Ingredients
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1/4 cup caster sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 cardamom pods, bruised
- 500g fresh dates, pitted, halved
- 500g Tamar Valley Greek Style Yoghurt
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted
Method
- Step 1 Combine orange juice, sugar, honey, cinnamon, cardamom and 1/4 cup cold water in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring, for 4 minutes or until sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until thickened.
- Step 2 Add dates. Set aside to cool. Using a slotted spoon, transfer dates to a bowl. Remove and discard cinnamon and cardamom. Reserve syrup.
- Step 3 Spoon dates into 8 glasses. Serve topped with yoghurt, almonds and reserved syrup.
